With recent events in Nth Africa and the middle east, has this group thought about looking at the whole theme of revolution more broadly? There's a huge amount of interesting writing about the Egyptian revolution by writers such as Robert Fisk (journalist for the Independent - he writes for it nearly every day at the moment) available online and in the press.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget, the idea is to back and forward in time from this starting point. I like the fact that there's quite a bit of material on this blog referring to revolution - and there are important and inspiring ones that are happening right now!
There are current very striking images of those that have died in the last couple of of months - maybe the most iconic one being Mohammed Bouazizi - see also the attempted (and brutally repressed) Iranian revolution in 2009 - its icon was Neda, assassinated by the state.
